Jacqueline Spring, M.OMSc, BEd
CO-OWNER & OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTITIONER
Jacqueline has always had an interest and love for human kinetics and anatomy. She played AA hockey in Thunder Bay throughout her entire youth and joined every elementary and high school sports team available. After playing hockey for the AA Queens organization she was recruited by Niagara University who offered her a full Division 1 hockey scholarship, to which she eagerly accepted. The years that followed were incredibly challenging yet rewarding and helped to shape Jacqueline into the strong, caring and confident woman she is today. While juggling school, the responsibilities of being captain of her hockey team and the otherwise intense demands faced by a division one athlete, Jacqueline endured injuries and health challenges which pushed her to her limits. Although difficult, Jacqueline persevered through these obstacles and they inevitably led her down the beautiful path to holistic health and wellness.
After graduating with honours Jacqueline was determined to help the people of Thunder Bay with their health and fitness. She started a personal and group training business, operating out of Superior Crossfit, where she quickly developed an impressive clientele. She watched the health of her clients transform, and celebrated with them as they progressed; yet, Jacqueline herself felt there was more she could do to impact their lives. Jacqueline by her nature is extremely competitive and this quality is only matched by her compassion and commitment to support those around her. It was these qualities that compelled Jacqueline to further her education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy where she spent 4 years learning from Incredible osteopaths, anatomists and physiology professors. She graduated in 2017, moved back to Thunder Bay and began immediately supporting her community. In 2020 Jacqueline and her life and business partner Andrew came together and created Align Osteopathy & Wellness. Jacqueline’s dream of powerfully combining her knowledge of strength and conditioning as well as her ability to treat patients osteopathically has come true. She is extremely grateful to be able to go to work everyday and do what she truly loves. It is so rewarding for Jacqueline to work closely with her patients to help them heal so that they can follow their dreams and live their best life. Jacqueline believes that when we feel well and we have our health the world is bright and full of endless possibilities. She looks forward to helping you on your journey to wellness.
Andrew Csernyei, M.OMSc, BSc
CO-OWNER & OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTITIONER
Andrew was fortunate to spend A LOT of time outside in nature as a kid. What started out as innocently chasing grasshoppers around the yard and spending countless hours snorkeling with the hope of spotting trophy bass quickly bloomed into a deep fascination with nature. Over time, Andrew’s academic interests inclined mainly toward the material sciences but he always kept an open mind and loved to explore the sciences, excited by the possibilities of gaining more insight into the workings of the natural world. Andrew studied Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo and became heavily involved in the strength and conditioning world during his time as an undergraduate student. Upon graduation, in 2012, Andrew moved seamlessly into the fitness industry and began working as a personal trainer; at first at a big box gym and then as a private trainer who operated his own small business.
Training and coaching were rewarding in themselves; however, Andrew always strived to continue learning and it wasn’t long before he stumbled upon osteopathy. Before you could say the word ‘squat’, Andrew had taken such a shine to osteopathy that he enrolled as a full time student at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) in Hamilton, Ontario. He completed the challenging four year, full time, program at the CAO and since graduation (2017) he has used his skills and knowledge to serve his community to the best of his ability. In 2020, after many years of planning, Andrew and his life partner Jacqueline Spring, who conveniently was also an osteopathic practitioner, opened Align Osteopathy & Wellness; a patient centered osteopathy and manual therapy clinic in the heart of Thunder Bay.
