<image:title>Our Team - Jacqueline Spring, M.OMSc, BEd</image:title>
<image:caption>CO-OWNER & OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTITIONER Jacqueline has always had an interest and love for human kinetics and anatomy. She played AA hockey in Thunder Bay throughout her entire youth and joined every elementary and high school sports team available. After playing hockey for the AA Queens organization she was recruited by Niagara University who offered her a full Division 1 hockey scholarship, to which she eagerly accepted. The years that followed were incredibly challenging yet rewarding and helped to shape Jacqueline into the strong, caring and confident woman she is today. While juggling school, the responsibilities of being captain of her hockey team and the otherwise intense demands faced by a division one athlete, Jacqueline endured injuries and health challenges which pushed her to her limits. Although difficult, Jacqueline persevered through these obstacles and they inevitably led her down the beautiful path to holistic health and wellness. After graduating with honours Jacqueline was determined to help the people of Thunder Bay with their health and fitness. She started a personal and group training business, operating out of Superior Crossfit, where she quickly developed an impressive clientele. She watched the health of her clients transform, and celebrated with them as they progressed; yet, Jacqueline herself felt there was more she could do to impact their lives. Jacqueline by her nature is extremely competitive and this quality is only matched by her compassion and commitment to support those around her. It was these qualities that compelled Jacqueline to further her education at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy where she spent 4 years learning from Incredible osteopaths, anatomists and physiology professors. She graduated in 2017, moved back to Thunder Bay and began immediately supporting her community. In 2020 Jacqueline and her life and business partner Andrew came together and created Align Osteopathy & Wellness. Jacqueline’s dream of powerfully combining her knowledge of strength and conditioning as well as her ability to treat patients osteopathically has come true. She is extremely grateful to be able to go to work everyday and do what she truly loves. It is so rewarding for Jacqueline to work closely with her patients to help them heal so that they can follow their dreams and live their best life. Jacqueline believes that when we feel well and we have our health the world is bright and full of endless possibilities. She looks forward to helping you on your journey to wellness.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Our Team - Andrew Csernyei, M.OMSc, BSc</image:title>
<image:caption>CO-OWNER & OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTITIONER Andrew was fortunate to spend A LOT of time outside in nature as a kid. What started out as innocently chasing grasshoppers around the yard and spending countless hours snorkeling with the hope of spotting trophy bass quickly bloomed into a deep fascination with nature. Over time, Andrew’s academic interests inclined mainly toward the material sciences but he always kept an open mind and loved to explore the sciences, excited by the possibilities of gaining more insight into the workings of the natural world. Andrew studied Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo and became heavily involved in the strength and conditioning world during his time as an undergraduate student. Upon graduation, in 2012, Andrew moved seamlessly into the fitness industry and began working as a personal trainer; at first at a big box gym and then as a private trainer who operated his own small business. Training and coaching were rewarding in themselves; however, Andrew always strived to continue learning and it wasn’t long before he stumbled upon osteopathy. Before you could say the word ‘squat’, Andrew had taken such a shine to osteopathy that he enrolled as a full time student at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) in Hamilton, Ontario. He completed the challenging four year, full time, program at the CAO and since graduation (2017) he has used his skills and knowledge to serve his community to the best of his ability. In 2020, after many years of planning, Andrew and his life partner Jacqueline Spring, who conveniently was also an osteopathic practitioner, opened Align Osteopathy & Wellness; a patient centered osteopathy and manual therapy clinic in the heart of Thunder Bay.</image:caption>

A strong interest in health, wellness and the power of prevention lead her to complete an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology at Lakehead University. After her experience with high performance sport, injury and the difficult journey of recovery, she discovered Osteopathy; a practice of manual therapy which is deeply rooted in anatomy, physiology and body mechanics. Krista studied Osteopathic Theory and practical skills at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. This challenging program has given Krista the knowledge and ability to assist patients on their path to better health and function.</image:caption>

In practice, she combines manual therapy, soft tissue therapy/instrument assisted soft tissue therapy, exercise prescription and clinical acupuncture to guide her patients on a path of optimal functioning and well-being. Moreover, she prides herself in being thorough and spending her time with patients to determine the underlying cause of their pain, using evidence-based practice and a tailored treatment plan to help each reach their individual goals. <image:caption>OSTEOPATHIC MANUAL PRACTITIONER Janessa was born and raised in Thunder Bay, she has always wanted to devote her future career and education in the pursuit of helping others. She graduated from Lakehead University in 2013 with an Honour’s Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Biology, with the hope of building a strong foundation for a post-secondary degree somewhere in the medical field. Life, however, had other plans. Janessa was diagnosed with a chronic illness that redirected her into a time that she now calls “A degree in health and healing”. It was during this time that her path to finding and practicing Osteopathy began because the only relief she could find from her many symptoms was via the skilled ministrations of her future friend and colleague, Jaqueline Spring. With her newfound strength and faith in her body’s ability to heal, Janessa enrolled in the 4-year intensive program at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) in 2018. Over many years of persistence, hard work, travel and support from her family and partner John, she graduated in 2022 and is now in a position to help others in the same way that Osteopathic therapy has helped her. Janessa is incredibly passionate about this work as she describes herself often as a “walking billboard” for the craft. She is excited to bring her newfound skillset and personal experience back to her hometown, and would be honoured to help you on your individual journey of health and/or healing!</image:caption>

KarLee developed her interest for fitness, health and wellness at a young age, thanks to her very supportive and health conscious family. Growing up, KarLee was drawn to competitive team based and solo sports and this urge to compete at a high level was strongest in long distance running. Within the past year, KarLee has become very interested in Osteopathy as well as holistic healthcare. Although KarLee is a recent addition to the Align team, she brings with her an abundance of energy, enthusiasm and knowledge which she is excited to share with the Align community!</image:caption>
